Lighting Design and Technical Manager

Alice was Technical Manager and Lighting Designer on Cryptic and Robbie Thomson’s Portal, as part of the cultural programme of the European Championships 2018. Glasgow’s 762 metre long Clyde Tunnel was transformed with robotic sculptures, light and sound.

Lighting Designer and Operator

Visual artist Robbie Thomson harnesses the power of the Tesla coil, the 19th century invention that first let us see electricity dance. A pulsing soundtrack reminiscent of afrobeat and ambient electronica - created via laptop and synthesiser - strikes visuals from the Tesla coil, shooting sensational sonic and visual fireworks flaring through the Faraday cage that contains it.

Large scale light installation at Mother of the Nation Festival 2018 in Abu Dhabi. 

Computer generated fireworks are projected onto a 60 foot wide screen using state-of-the-art projectors and lasers.

Arika is a political arts organisation concerned with supporting connections between artistic production and social change. Alice was technical manager on their 2017 festival.

The Art School is a student and artist led venue in Glasgow. Alice was production Manager here for 6 years, working her way up from Technician and being Promoted to Production Manager.
